Roza Assanbayeva, Kazakhstan Tourism Association (KTA) president spoke about construction of Kenderly resort in Mangistau oblast during the online conference that was held at Tengrinews.kz recently. According to Assanbayeva, the project is being implemented consistently and thoroughly. “This is the only large-scale tourist project in Kazakhstan now that is at the final stage of implementation,” KTA president said. “The resort's capacity is 23 hotels with 22 thousand places. This resort will create 15 thousand jobs and help prevent social tensions in Zhanaozen town. Completion of the resort will create a new administrative-territorial entity with 60 thousand residents near Turkmenistan border.” Assanbayeva added that it is planned to construct a 75 kilometer long double-circuit power line, 12-kilometer long gas-pipe, roads and wastewater treatment facilities at the territory of the resort or near it. Kazakhstan government allocated funds to draw out the required set of documents for potential investors to enhance investment attractiveness of the project. “Kenderly resort’s competitive advantages will be highlighted at this stage. It is also planned to work out the resort’s development strategy, to find and to choose potential international investors, consider the international tour operators that will administer the hotels, yacht piers, golf courses, set up recreation and resort management. It is planned to sign memorandums of understanding with investors and operators to acknowledge the mutual interest in the project's implementation,” KTA president said.
