This park is the oldest in the city; it was founded in 1872 as a city garden.

The Army House, formerly the District House of Officers, is an important methodological center for cultural and educational institutions. And it was built in 1978.
The Ykhlas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, which has a rich collection of not only Kazakh instruments but also those of other nations of Central Asia, is nearby too.
