Bath and health complex "Arasan"

Location: Tulebaev Street, 78.

What’s interesting about it?

The “Arasan” complex appeared in 1982 in Almaty. Initially, designers considered the possibility of constructing three separate buildings in different places, but then they concluded that it would be more effective to build one complex with different types of baths and medical services. There are Finnish, Russian, and oriental baths and spas there.

What to see?

The architects learned from the experience of building baths in Baku, Yerevan, Moscow, and Budapest. They also examined models of medieval baths in Turkestan and Otrar and explored existing baths in Uzbekistan. As a result, the “Arasan” complex combines all the rich experiences of previous generations and scientific achievements. The appearance of the building combines the Kazakh national style with modern forms. The domes contrast with the rectangular rooms, and their ascetic appearance contrasts with the rich interior decoration.

When is the best time to visit?

The complex is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11.30 p.m.
