Pervomaiskie Ponds

Location: These ponds are 23 kilometers from Almaty. You can get there by bus No. 231 from the Sayakhat bus station to the bus stop “Pervomaiskie Prudy.” You can also get there by riding a car with a navigator.

“Pervomaiskie Ponds” has been a popular relaxation area in Almaty since Soviet times. The Terenkara River was blocked with dams to create reservoirs for irrigating fields and vineyards. In 2017, massive reconstruction was carried out there, and the territory was ennobled.

What kind of entertainment is there?

Firstly, Pervomaisky Ponds attracts people for its beach relaxation. The length of the beaches is 5,000 square meters, and there is also a restaurant, a summer cafe, a children's playground, a volleyball court, and water attractions. On the complex territory, you can find a wakeboarding school, you can go paddleboarding, rent a boat or a catamaran, and relax in an inflatable water park. There is a swimming pool next to the ponds.

Lotus flowers bloom on ponds in July. This place is one of the most Instagrammable places near Almaty.

When is the best time to visit?

The swimming season opens at the end of May and ends in August. In the winter, there is an ice skating rink and slides.
