“Kazakhstan” Hotel
Location: Dostyk Avenue, 52/2.
What’s interesting about it?
The 102-meter hotel, with a crown, opened in 1977. It became the top of earthquake-resistant construction and a unique architectural project. During earthquake testing, architects stood inside the building confident in their work. The hotel took the height record in Almaty until 2008. The Crown also has an interesting story. It was not in the plan, but it appeared to close the elevator shaft on the roof.

The hotel rooms on the upper floors offer impressive views of the city and the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. You can enjoy the same view by visiting the restaurant on the 26th floor. The hotel has 447 rooms, two restaurants and a bar. There are also several restaurants attached to the lower floors.
