Location: You take the Tashkent highway (A-2), where you turn left towards the village of Shamalgan. Drive along the main street of the village, Zhibek Zholy, and before reaching the sports school, turn left. After you reach Alzhan Street, turn right and go straight about 3.3 km to the ethnic center.
What’s interesting about it?
The ethnocenter is called a living open-air museum. This place is visited by those who want to get acquainted with the history of Kazakhstan and the nomadic peoples who live on this territory.
What kind of entertainment is there?
You can wear military armor, sit on a horse, and shoot a bow there. You can also cook Kazakh cuisine and see how real masterpieces from ordinary felt are created. Numerous master classes cover all aspects of folk art; visitors can learn how the Kazakhs made yurts and developed pottery, jewelry, and blacksmithing.
People also come here to watch spectacular impromptu battles. You can also go horseback riding or walk along the Ushkonyr plateau, enjoying its beautiful views.
When is the best time to visit?
The ethnic center is open all year round, from Tuesday to Sunday. It is best to visit during the festivals, but at other times, you can dive into traditional culture.
