Almaty Arena Ice Palace

What’s interesting about it?

Almaty Arena is the largest ice palace in Kazakhstan, with a capacity of 12,000 seats. It appeared in anticipation of the 2017 Universiade. This Ice Palace is designed for holding events and concerts, including ice hockey, figure skating, boxing, volleyball, basketball, and others. The complex consists of three blocks, on the territory of which there are two ice skating rinks, a fitness center, and a swimming pool. This arena has seats for 12,000 spectators and 5,000 seats for the concert hall.

What kind of entertainment is there?

The complex has two indoor and outdoor skating rinks. The Almaty Arena also has sections for freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women's wrestling. The aim of it is to popularize sports and a healthy lifestyle among young people. Rooms with exercise equipment, showers, locker rooms, and workout areas are provided for classes. Moreover, there are sections for choreography, swimming, figure skating, and hockey.

When is the best time to visit?

Sports sections operate all year. Public skating begins at the beginning of November and is also available for visiting on weekends. It is important to note that children under seven can attend these events free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
