What’s interesting about it?

The central part of this ensemble, called “Feat,” perpetuates the memory of 28 brave soldiers of the 1075th Regiment of the 316th Infantry Division, formed in Alma-Ata in the summer of 1941. Masterfully forged from copper, these sculptures show soldiers in uncompromising poses, relentlessly defending Moscow. The famous statement of political instructor Vasily Klochkov engraved on the pedestal of the monument: “Russia is great, but there is nowhere to retreat. Behind us is Moscow!

How did it appear?

The monument was built in 1975. At the same time, the Eternal Flame was lit there. The memorial symbolizes the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for their homeland.

What's interesting nearby?

On the opposite side of the memorial is the Military History Museum, with exhibits dedicated to the heroism of the Panfilov division. The Ykylas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments is also nearby. In the center of the park is the unique Ascension Cathedral, which has undergone reconstruction.
