Almaty Terrencur (Health Path)
Location: The path begins at the Kazakhstan Hotel behind Dostyk Avenue and continues in the upper part of the city for 4.5 kilometers.
What’s interesting about it?
The Terrencur along the Malaya Almatinka River, or “health path,” appeared in Almaty in 1974, and it is a perfect place for walking, jogging, and cycling. The highest point is at an altitude of 1,058 meters above sea level, and the lowest one is at an altitude of 876 meters.
What kind of entertainment is there?
Along the track, you can find a lot of benches; from time to time, soft ottomans and chairs are installed in different locations where you can sit and drink coffee. In the upper part of this path, there is a picturesque pond with ducks, several workout grounds, tennis tables, and a football field. An unusual mirror that can be used for taking photos is placed on the wall of one of the houses just above Al-Farabi Avenue. Bridges over the river are also great for atmospheric photos.
When is the best time to visit?
You can walk and take a break from the city noise, just a couple of blocks away from Dostyk Avenue, at any time.
