What’s interesting about it?

The Botanical Garden, covering an area of 103.6 hectares, contains a unique collection of flora from Kazakhstan, Europe, the Caucasus, North America, and East Asia. The location of this park is consistently included in the lists of the most popular places for tourists in Almaty.

The exposition “Europe, Crimea and the Caucasus,” with fruit plants, oaks, and maples, is located in the western part of the park. The “North America” exposition is in the north of the Botanical Park and allows you to admire coniferous trees. “East Asia” contains plenty of beautifully flowering trees and shrubs, such as barberry, deutia, weigela, forsythia, spirea, exochorda, chaenomeles, and cotoneaster in early spring. In the southern part of the garden, there is a collection of potted plants. There is also a “Japanese Garden," a “Dry Garden,” and a “Herb and Flower Garden.”

When is the best time to visit?

The botanical garden is an attractive place for a walk at any time of the year. In spring, you can enjoy the flowering of trees and shrubs; in summer, you can relax in green forests and by beautiful ponds; and in autumn, you can walk under the golden crowns of trees. Walking will also be fun in winter; the Botanical Garden is beautifully illuminated in the evening and creates a fabulous atmosphere. The entrance fee is 850 tenge, and tours start at 1,000 tenge.
