Lermontov Russian Drama Theater is one of the oldest and most famous theaters in the whole country. Among the spectacles, we can highlight several popular performances, such as “Autumn Sonata” (based on the melodrama by Ingmar Bergman), “Wolves and Sheep” (based on a comedy by Alexander Ostrovsky), “Once Upon a Time...” (a comedy by Ermek Tursunov), “The Snow Maiden.” "Not a fairy tale" (the plot based on the fairy tale by Alexander Ostrovsky), "The Inspector General" (an adaptation of the comedy by Nikolai Gogol), and "The Seagull" (based on the play by Anton Chekhov) were also performed here.
How did it appear?
The theater was founded in 1933. The first performance of “Yarovaya Love” is based on K. Trenev’s play under the direction of Yu. L. Rutkovsky was performed in Semipalatinsk because, at that time, the theater did not have a permanent building yet. However, the bright creative history of the group began in Almaty, where the theater building was already completed.
The first actors, such as E. Kruchinina, Z. Morskaya, S. Assuirov, M. Brand, and many others, under the leadership of Rutkovsky, enthusiastically and lovingly formed a team that soon won the audience's recognition.

Tickets can be purchased on the theater website and other online platforms. A children's performance ticket should be purchased for a child over three years old. Children under 15 are not allowed to attend evening performances.
