A woman's headless torso was found at the base of the Niagara Falls, Canadian police said Thursday, ruling out any links to a similar body parts case in Toronto, AFP reports. Passersby noticed the torso floating on the lower Niagara River, near the Rainbow Bridge, on Wednesday, according to police. The limbs and head had been severed. The body was transported to a nearby hospital, where a preliminary autopsy found that the victim was a "middle-aged" white woman with a pierced navel who has had at least one caesarean section and a tubal ligation procedure, according to police. The authorities said the crime was not related to the murder of a Chinese Canadian woman whose body parts were discovered scattered throughout Toronto by her estranged boyfriend. Earlier this month, police recovered an arm, thigh and two calves from a creek in an eastside suburb of Toronto, as well as a foot, two hands and a head belonging to Guang Hua Liu, 41, from a park west of the city. Chun Qi Jiang, 40, a construction worker who moved to Canada in 2002, was arrested in Toronto on Sunday and charged with murder in the case. The dismemberment case was the third involving Chinese immigrants or visitors to Canada in recent years. Chinese immigrant Vince Weiguang was committed to a mental hospital after beheading and cannibalizing a Canadian bus passenger in front of horrified travelers four years ago. "Canadian Psycho" Luka Rocco Magnotta, a former male porn actor, faces charges for killing a Chinese student with an ice pick in Montreal in May. He is accused of carving up the victim's body, sexually abusing the corpse and filming the act, before posting a video of the killing online.
