Missing MI-8 found in Almaty oblast

The MI-8 helicopter that went missing with 8 people on board has been finally found in Almaty oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. The helicopter went missing in the area of Koktuma-Dostyk next to Kazakhstan-Chinese border on November 24. According to the Ministry, the wreckage of the helicopter was found in the area of the 16th railroad junction. The helicopter has crashed, according to Almaty Oblast's Emergency Situations Department. There is no information about the 8 people who were onboard of the chopper yet. But the department says that "most likely all the crew members were killed in the accident. The bodies have not been found yet and the information is being checked." MI-8 helicopter took off on November 24 at 08.30 to fly over the Usharal-Dostyk section of the Atasu – Alashankow oil pipeline. At 12.30 the same day the contact with the helicopter was lost.
