Kazakhstan residents asked to inform of suspicious people via hot lines

In case of finding suspicious objects or suspicious religious persons acting asocially and tending to secret actvities, Kazakhstan residents should call the hot lines of the city Interior Department or the National Security Commission, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to an operations desk officer of Kazakhstan National Security Commission, all residents of the country can safeguard themselves and their families by timely notifying the interior authorities of suspicious persons. To do so they should pass on the information to their city police department, for example Almaty Interior Department. As soon as the police checks and confirmed the information, the National Security Commission will get involved in the case. “We work 24/7, you can provide information by dialing 157 or other numbers given on our website. You can see the website of Kazakhstan National Security Commission http://www.knb.kz for more details. If you notice a suspicious package or other object, please notify the rescue service or Emergency Situations Department of your city,” the operations desk officer said. Security experts recommend to avoid crowded places and refrain from approaching groups of idlers. Stay away from people wearing out of season clothes, they say. Do not go into panic, hysteria and hurry. Be organized when leaving buildings. Always carry a mobile phone or any other gadget to be able to call your family and emergency services, if necessary. Do not touch objects that seem suspicious, including boxes, bags, packages and toys. Do not let children to touch them when outside. Stay alert.
