Criminal case initiated after explosions in Atyrau 31 октября 2011, 16:29

Operational-investigations group has been created to investigate into the blasts.

A criminal case initiated after two explosions in Atyrau next to the oblast administration building, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of the oblast prosecution office. An operational-investigations group has created for investigation into the blasts. According to the prosecution office, the first blast happened at 8:45 a.m. on October 31. The explosives were set off in agarbage can on Kulmanov street. No casualties were reported. The second blast occurred at 9.50 a.m. next to the building No.30 of Sary-Arka region. “An unknown man blew himself up, shattering the windows in the building nearby,” the press-service of oblast prosecution office stated. Earlier Atyrau oblast Emergency Situations Department informed that both blasts happened close to oblast administration building. Around 100 people were evacuated from the building.
