Dry wood burnt at Karash mount in Zhylandy gorge in Yenbekshikazakh region of Almaty oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. The wood caught fire in the morning of September 1. The fire covered the area of 100 hectares. No casualties were reported. The fire quenching operation involved 7 people and 1 vehicle of the fire-fighting team of Almaty Oblast Emergency Situations Department, 60 employees of Turgen Leskhoz, 10 people and 1 helicopter from KazAviaLesoOkhrana. The fire spread from Issyk-Kul oblast of Kyrgyzstan. According to the press-service of Kyrgyzstan Emergency Situations Ministry, forest and grass caught fire on August 31 at Soldatskiy mountain range. The fire covered around 50 hectares of dry grass and 5 hectares of forest by September 1. The situation is complicated by the fact that the use of the special ground vehicles is impossible in the mountains.
