World-famous La Scala and the Mariinsky Theatre will come on a tour to Astana Opera State Opera and Ballet Theater, BNews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed. "The state opera and ballet theater has started working in Astana. Launching a theater is not an easy thing to do. This is not a plant or a factory. Tolegen Mukhametzhanov was appointed Director General. The plans for this year include to hosting a tour of La Scala and the Mariinsky Theater," the official said. Milan's opera theater La Scala was founded in 1778. Saint-Petersburg's the Mariinsky Theater opened in 1860.
