Canadian figure skater will change citizenship to skate for Kazakhstan

Daryn Zhunussov – Cortney Mansour duo will represent Kazakhstan at the next figure skating championship in Nice, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan figure skating coach Yuriy Guskov. This will be the first time for the couple to take part in a senior tournament. 20-year-old Zhunussov was born in Omsk and had recently received Kazakhstan citizenship. Cortney Mansour, 18, is a citizen of Canada. Right now she is planning to change her citizenship for Kazakhstan. The couple is trained in the U.S. by Konstantin Kaplan and Nikolai Morozov. World Championship will be held on March 26 – April 1, where Kazakhstan will be also represented by Denis Ten. He won 14th place at the World Championship-2011. By Aizhan Tugelbayeva
