Almaty hosted the final of qualifying round of Miss Almaty-2014 beauty pageant. Its six finalists will compete for Miss Almaty-2014 title in mid-October, Tengrinews reports.

Continuation

This year, the organizers of the Miss Almaty-2014 beauty pageant made a decision to change the rules to make it harder to enter the final to improve the selection process. The reason behind the organizers' decision was that many representatives of Almaty ended up winning Miss Kazakhstan titles and went on to represent Kazakhstan abroad, and this drove the responsibility of the winners up.

Therefore, now, the contest is being held in two stages: the final of qualifying round and the Grand Finale.

This year, more than 117 girls at the age of 17 and 23 competed in the qualifying round, and only 15 of them made it into the final of qualifying round.

During three months, the finalists of the qualifying round were actively participating in various events ranging from football matches to hiking in the mountains.

After that the participants of the Miss Almaty contest got completely different tasks: presentation, express-interviews, defile in sportswear dedicated to Almaty Universiade-2017, defile in business attire, and for the first time ever – defile in wedding dresses.

Finally, six girls Aliya Daniyarova, Nazerke Omirova, Aisalkyn Kadirbek, Didara Abdraimova, Aibike Daubekova were selected to compete in the Grand Finale of the Miss Almaty-2014 beauty pageant.

Several girls were awarded various titles.

Saltanat Kuttybai was named the Miss Congeniality,

Aibike Daubekova became the Miss People’s Choice,

Didara Abdraimova received the Miss Super Star title,

Nazerke Bazarkhanova was titled the Miss Dancing Queen,

Aliya Daniyarova got the Miss Photo Model title.

The jury panel consisted of famous Kazakh violinist Zhamilya Serkebayeva, Director of Miss Kazakhstan beauty contest Alena Rivlina, Director of Muzzone TV channel Adilzhan Sadykov, official stylist of the beauty contest Ainura Ryspekova, popular Kazakh singer Ali Okapov, Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Almaty city administration Sanzhar Bokayev, Miss Kazakhstan 2013 Aidai Isayeva, and the winner of the Fashion House International contest Valeriya Pavlova.

“Girls were able to demonstrate their beauty and multifaceted personality. This is very important. Not only the appearance is important, but also her eyes, the way she speaks. It is very important that the girl carries the depth and the culture of our beautiful land. Therefore, I wish the multifaceted beauty to all of them, ” the jury member, Kazakhstan's violinist Zhamilya Serkebayeva noted.

Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Almaty city administration Sanzhar Bokayev, who is also one of the juries, congratulated all the winners and reminded them that a women should be not only beautiful, but also "wise, capable of creating a family, hearing and listening to her husband".

The Grand Finale will be held in mid-October, where Almaty beauty will be selected to represent Almaty at Miss Kazakhstan-2014.

The same as with the rules, organizers made changes to the format of the beauty contest. From now on, the people of Kazakhstan will have a say in the selection of the country's most beautiful girl. "The work of the jury finishes after three finalists are selected (at the Grand Finale). People then choose the Miss Kazakhstan via SMS and online voting. So we no longer choose the girl. We just recommend three participants who deserve it, but the final decision is up to the Kazakhstanis," Director of the beauty contest Alena Rivlina said in an interview to Tengrinews.

Besides, for the first time ever, the winner will receive a cash prize of 1 million tenge (nearly $5,500) along with prizes from sponsors.
