"The visit of Chairman Xi Jinping will be the first visit by a foreign head of state after the re-election of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, which is a sign of political support for President Nazarbayev from China. The visit is also an evidence of strategic partnership between the two countries at the highest level," Cheng said.
He called the cooperation between China and Kazakhstan "a fine example of good neighborliness."
It is expected that during the visit the sides will discuss the establishment of a Silk Road economic belt, coordinate their positions on a number of cooperation projects and exchange views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
"This visit is an evidence of the high level of strategic mutual trust between the two countries that will help further strengthen the bilateral relations, political trust and practical cooperation," said the Vice Minister.
