Kazakhstan Government has updated the list of the fields of strategic importance, KazTAG reports. The decree was signed by Kazakhstan Prime-Minister of October 4, 2011 and published in the official media on Tuesday. The list of subsoil areas and fields of strategic importance is made of 361 fields, including over 40 hydrocarbons fields (Kashagan, Tengiz, Karachaganak, etc.), over 50 uranium fields (Inkai, North Kharassan, etc.), 7 gold mines (Vasilkovskoye, Varvasinskoye, etc.), 4 coal mines (Shubarkol, Ekibastuz mines Bogatyr, Severnyi, etc.), 1 diamond mine (Kumdykol), 1 lead-zinc mine (Shalkiya) and others. The decree will come into effect on the day of first official publication.
