President of Kazakhstan's national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Askar Mamin held bilateral talks with Director General of Chinese Railways Sheng Guangji. Two cooperation documents were signed.

The agreement on construction of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway link was signed by the three leaders back in 2007, the actual construction works commenced in 2009.
According to him, through this railway link Iran “could tap into Russian and Chinese markets, whereas Kazakhstan will get an access to all the states of the Persian Gulf”.
