Since its release in 2006, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan or simply Borat has become an erroneous reference point for various people that had not heard of Kazakhstan before. Lukas Podolski, the German forward from Galatasaray tweeted a post from Borat and wrote, "can't wait" before the match against Astana club in Kazakhstan. Podolski did not realize the extend of offence he caused to Kazakhstanis. The Canadian IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux soon facing the undefeated Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin has, too, taken the Borat reference.

Lemiex posted a picture of Borat on his Instagram page.  But unlike the German forward, the Canadian was quick to throw a disclaimer.

"Lol dont lie ppl how many of you knew about Kazakhstan before this guy came along. Then came Golovkin :p (just humor no need to get offended)," Lemiex wrote.

Meanwhile, Golovkin said that he had watched Borat too, via TMZSports.

"It is not a true story. For me it is not funny. For me it is like a little bit stupid. This is not Kazakhstan," Golovkin responded with a smile.

Lemieux fights Golovkin in the title unification bout on October 17 at Madison Square Garden. The WBA Super, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion Golovkin is debuting with a PPV fight on HBO. Kazakhstanis will be able to watch the Golovkin-Lemieux fight on Kazakhstan TV channel.

As for Podolski? The German footballer had to apologize for his earlier tweet.
