2013 Fed Cup Asia/Oceania (Group 1) will be held in Astana on February 4-9. Seven teams will fight for only one spot to the next round, Vesti.kz reports. Kazakhstan Fed Cup team managed to reach the final of the group tournament last year. Then the team played against Chinese Na Li, Shuai Peng, Jie Zheng and Shuai Zhang and lost. China made in into the play-off, but lost to Argentina’s team 1:4 and returned back into the group it came from. “China is our main rival,” Yaroslava Shvedova, Kazakhstan Fed Cup team’s leader said. “But there are also New Zealand’s, Uzbekistan’s and other teams in the group. Our main goal is to play as one team, because we have a strong squad. If our team plays consistently, it can show excellent results not only in this geographic zone, but also in the World Group in future.”
