Second charity marathon Courage to be First to be held in Almaty on April 28

The second charity marathon Courage to be First will be held in Almaty on April 28, Tengrinews.kz reports. The event will start at 8 a.m. in Kazakhstan First President's Park (at the corner of al-Farabi and Navoi street). The marathon is expected to be participated by 5 thousand people. All the funds raised during the event will be spent to support low-income sport-talented and handicapped children. All citizens and guests of Almaty aged over 10 are welcome to take part in the event. The marathon will go along Al-Farabi street, Eastern Bypass Road and Abai street. The race will finish at the Central Stadium on Abay street. The marathon is expected to take 5 hours. There will be several distances to choose from: 2km, 11.5km, 21km (semi-marathon) and 42.195km (marathon). Participants are recommended to make the choice based on their preferences and physical fitness. Modern equipment using RFID-technologies and automatic photofinish will be used to register the exact time of the racer at the finishes. Professional sportsmen aged over 18 are also invited to take part in the marathon race (the longest distance). Winners of the marathon distance will receive prizes and an opportunity to take part in the international marathon in Amsterdam. All participating runners will received memorable prizes and medals. To take part in the marathon one should register online at the marathon's official website almaty-marathon.kz. Registration of the marathon's participants started on April 5 and finish on April 25 at 10:00 p.m. Almaty time. The marathon is organized by Almaty administration and World Class Almaty fitness club. Alash Media Group is the general information sponsor of the event. The event's general sponsors are Halyk Bank Kazakhstan, Astana Motors, TS Development, Assem Ai, its other sponsors are Adidas-Group and Volunteers Coordination Center Komanda SOS. The first charity marathon Courage to be First was held in Almaty in May 2012. It received a lot of positive feedback from the participants, mass media, partner companies and the city's authorities.
