Kuralai Nurkadilova was the only bidder at the tender to supply outfits for Kazakhstan Olympics team, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Directorate of National Teams and Sports Reserves of Kazakhstan Agency of Sports and Physical Culture.
“No other designers besides High Fashion House Kuralai submitted applications for participation in the tender,” the Directorate states. So, there was only one option for the outfits and the tender commission decided to procure the clothes from this designer.
Earlier Nurkadilova told that the men’s outfit includes a jacket made of synthetic leather, a shirt, gabardine trousers, a tie, a baseball cap of artificial leather, a belt, canvas shoes with leather insets and socks. The women’s is similar but has several differences: a dress, shoes have small heels and caps are replaced by visors. Besides, the outfits include a small panther Irbi toy, the symbol of Asian Winter Games-2011.
The Directorate said that initially nine potential suppliers expressed interest and intention to take part in the bidding for supplies of outfit and sportsware for the Olympics team. They included Astana-Nur & A, Pht, Beratex, High Fashion House Kuralai, individual entrepreneurs Sabraliyeva M., Osmanova M.M., Tyulevov K., Kireyev, as well as Material-Technical Equipment for Tourism and Sport Industry.
Two lots were set for tender: official outfits and sportsware. Only three suppliers submitted their applications out of 9 that intended to. High Fashion House Kuralai was the only bidder for the first lot - official outfit. Material-Technical Equipment for Tourism and Sport Industry and Ospanova M.M. bid for the second lot - sportsware. Material-Technical Equipment for Tourism proposal was cheaper so the commission decided to purchase sportsware from it.
The 30th Olympic Games will be held in London on July 27 to August 12. Kazakhstan will be represented by 115 sportsmen. They will wear the outfits made by Kuralai Nurkadilova at the opening ceremony.
