Kazakhstan boxer Gennady Golovkin, 29, will defend the WBA champion title against Lajuan Simon, 32, from the United States. The date of the match was moved from the earlier announced September 17 to October 15, according to BoxingScene. It has become known that representatives of Golovkin have stopped negotiations of the possible fight against interim WBA champion Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam from Cameroon that was expected to take place in the end of the year. Golovkin won the champion title last August by knocking out Milton Nunez in the first round. In June 18 this year he defended the title against Kassim Ouma from Uganda (also a knock out).
