A new advanced cableway and new pistes started working at the territory of Shymbulak Skiing Resort that is situated further up the mountains from the famous Medeu skating rink), BNews reports.
The cableway that is situated at the slope of Left Talgar is one-kilometer long. What makes this slope so attractive is its good passability. Beginning skiers and snowboarders would feel comfortable at the new low-pitched pistes, Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, general director of Shymbulak Development company said.
Shymbulak entrance fee, including the new piste’s cableway fee, would not change, the resort's representatives said at the press-conference timed to the official opening of the skiing resort this season.
According to Yerkinbayev, the number of visitors of high-altitude Medeu skating rink has increased threefold recently. “The maximum number of visitors reached 2.5 thousand people a day last season. But since the beginning of the new seasons at Shymbulak the number of visitors have reached 6 000 people a day. This makes about 240 thousand people a year,” he said.
