Inventor Nikolay Ryzhov has suggested to ventilate Almaty with the use of gas-dynamic units, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to him, it will require installation of several multi-functional mobile gas-dynamic jet units for air ventilation in the city. Such units will artificially create a whirl that will initiate ultrahigh speed air flows. Difference of air temperatures will help the flows to self-energize and inter-exchange in the upper atmospheric levels will be accelerated. As a result more fresh air flows will be coming to Almaty from the directions surrounded by steppes. “Similar units are used for quenching flares in oil production. There climatic version would take some re-equipment and have to be fit to accelerators. Preliminary experiments can be performed, I know how to do this. It will be enough to install those units in 2-3 most polluted parts of the city,” Ryzhov said. According to the inventor, great noise may be the only disadvantage of these innovative units. But Ryzhov assures that those units will have to work for just several minutes to make the flows self-generate. “The climate situation in Almaty is critical. There is less than 17 percent of oxygen in the air, while the minimum limit is 16 percent. There are many combustion products in the air: charcoal black, lead and other hazardous substances. The air flows are currently moving from the city to the mountains and the atmosphere at Shymbulak at 11:00 p.m. is more polluted that in the city,” the inventor said. Ryzhov wrote about his invention at the website of Almaty Akim (Mayor). He received a reply that the city administration was interested in the suggestion. Akim asked the constructor to show his project to the city department of natural resources and nature use regulation. By Vladimir Prokopenko
