Even trash-talking billionaire candidate Donald Trump, who has upended the US Republican presidential campaign with one controversial comment after another, cannot escape jury duty, AFP reports.
The bombastic real estate magnate and leading 2016 Republican presidential contender will carry out his civic duty next week, he told a New Hampshire press conference on Friday.
"I will be doing jury duty on Monday morning in New York city," Trump said ahead of a rally in the early voting state.
The brash billionaire added in his comments to reporters that he plans to attend the Iowa State Fair this weekend -- a traditional stomping ground for presidential contenders seeking to schmooze with voters -- where he plans to offer free rides for children in his personal helicopter.
"Are we giving helicopter rides? I think so. To the kids," he told the New Hampshire press conference.
The Iowa State Fair is a popular destination with US presidential candidates because the state holds the nation's first primary vote each campaign season.
Officials at the fair had said that Trump would not be allowed to give children rides from within its grounds, according to US media.
However a parking lot near the fair will instead serve as a helipad, Trump campaign state chairman Chuck Laudner told CNN Friday.
