New Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies appointed in Kazakhstan

Yerlan Sagadiyev has been appointed the new Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the Ministry. "Sagadiyev Yerlan Kenzhegaliyevich was appointed the Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan by the decree of the Kazakhstan Government dated February 7, 2014," the message says. Yerlan Sagadiyev, 48, graduated from Almaty-based al-Farabi Kazakhstan National University with a major in economics. Then he got a master's decree from the University of Minnesota. He started his career as a secretary for development of international economic relationships in the Applied Economy Department of the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry. Then he worked as an assistant for analysis of agriculture in one of the departments of the World Bank and later was supervisor for the East European, CIS and North America. Besides, Yerlan Sagadiyev used to lead the University of International Business and was an Adviser to the Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan in 2007. He also chaired the Academy of the Regional Finance Center of Almaty. Newly appointed Vice-Minister is a co-chairman of the group for development of the construction materials cluster in Kazakhstan's Marketing and Strategic Research Center. He also leads the Industry Ministry's project of assessment of Kazakhstan’s accession into the WTO.
