Nazarbayev congratulates Aliyev on re-election

Kazakhstan President sent a congratulatory telegram to the re-elected President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Tengrinews reports citing Nazarbayev’s press-service. Nazarbayev expressed confidence that Aliyev’s activities as the President of the country will continue the comprehensive development and prosperity of Azerbaijan. “I am confident that the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan based on the traditions of friendship and mutual respect will keep expanding and enhancing for the benefit of our people,” the President wrote. In the end Kazakhstan President wished Aliyev good health and achievement of new heights in his activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly nation of Azerbaijan, the press-service writes. Ilham Aliyev won 85 percent of votes in the elections after the polls closed on Wednesday last week. His closest rival , Jamil Hasanli, got less than 6 percent.
