Tengrinews.kz – President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has arrived in Astana.
He came to the Kazakh capital to participate in the "Central Asia - Italy" summit.
The press service of the Kazakh government shared footage of Japarov’s arrival.
According to official data, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1.7 billion in 2024.
In the first quarter of this year, mutual trade increased by 25 percent compared to last year, reaching $435 million.
Kazakhstan’s exports grew by 32.7 percent. Both governments have set a goal to increase bilateral trade turnover to $3 billion.
Also arriving in Astana today at noon was Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The “Central Asia - Italy” summit will take place in Astana on May 30, with participation from the heads of state of the region.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who arrived in Astana on May 29 on an official visit, will also attend. She was formally welcomed at Akorda and later held talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
