On January 20 President of Kazakhstan signed a decree “On further modernization of the public administration system of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the of the president's official website.
The Ministry of Communication and Information has been eliminated and its functions transferred to other ministries: 1)information, archives and documentation functions transferred to the Ministry of Culture; and 2)communications, informatization, control over automation of public services and management of public service centers to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The ministries reorganized are: the Ministry of Culture (transformed into the Ministry of Culture and Information); the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (transformation into the Agency for Sports and Physical Culture) with its tourism-related functions transferred to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.
