Karaganda activist Andrey Tsukanov who threw eggs to Kazakhstan Labor and Social Protection Minister Serik Abdenov at the meeting in Almaty may be arrested for up to 10 days, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Almaty Interior Department.
Tsukanov is currently held in Almaty Regional Interior Department. He will be taken to the administrative court today. According to the press-service, Tsukanov told law-enforcement officers that he was trying to express his protest against the reform raising the retirement age for women from 58 to 63.
Tsukanov is charged for petty crime (disorderly conduct). He may be sentenced to up to 10 days in jail.
The activist Andrey Tsukanov threw three eggs at Serik Abdenov saying: "Stop disgracing Karaganda and the country!" Tsukanov was apprehended right after the incident. Abdenov said that this act was a manifestation of the person's cultural level.
Earlier a 22-y.o. Pavlodar citizen was arrested for 5 days for showing the middle finger of his left hand to the escort of Kairat Mami passing along the ring road to Pavlodar airport. The official later said that he disagreed with the actions of the police.
