Number of vacancies increased by 43 percent in 2011. According to the research of HeadHunter, the increase is related to creation of the Customs Union. Customs Union member-countries open their representative offices, branches, affiliated companies in Kazakhstan, creating new jobs. Requirements to local candidates become more tough, because if such company is unable to find a suitable local for a position it may import the experts from member-countries. The Kazakhstan market is experiencing a deficit of effective managers. “New business models are coming to our market all the time and the local managers often lack managerial experience to use them. The experience can be adopted from expats who already have the required skills, that’s why foreigners are frequently hired to top positions to train local managers-successors,” the research states. According to the website, the most popular professionals in Kazakhstan in 2011 were: sales experts (21.21 percent of the total number of vacancies), IT experts (10.3 percent), accounting professionals (9.8 percent), administrative personnel (8 percent) and marketing (7.5 percent). The demand for IT experts remains high because of development of information technologies. System administrators, ERP experts, telecommunication engineers (including 3G-networks engineers), programmers and developers are in demand in Kazakhstan.
