Zharkyn Zhumagulov has been appointed Akim (Mayor) of Kokshetau city to replace Munarbek Batyrkhanov who resigned, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports.
His candidacy was approved on Thursday, August 29 at the session of city akimat (Local authorities), the pess-service of Kokshetau city akimat told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
Zhumagulov used to head Zelenostroi Astana LLP and was a member of Astana city Maslikhat (local executive body).
Kokshetau is the administrative center of Akmola Oblast in central Kazakhstan.
