Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan has updated its regulations for the servicing and screening of officials at airports. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed a new government decree (No. 615, dated July 14, 2026), which took effect on July 17. The main changes concern the list of individuals exempt from security screening before boarding.
Who is on the updated list
According to the document, the Vice President of Kazakhstan has been included for the first time in the list of passengers who are exempt from airport security screenings.
Simultaneously, the government adjusted several job titles. The list now includes the Chairman of the Kurultai and the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Khalyk Kenesi.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House of Parliament) has been removed from the list.
Changes also affected the list of officials eligible for service in designated airport VIP lounges. The position of Vice President was added to this list, and the titles of Chairman of the Kurultai and Chairman of the Kazakhstan Khalyk Kenesi were updated. At the same time, the Chairman of the Mazhilis was excluded from this list as well.
Who else can use special lounges
The decree clarified and expanded the wording regarding individuals with access to designated airport lounges. According to the updated version, the list includes:
- akims (mayors/governors) of the capital, regions, and cities of republican significance;
- chairpersons of Kurultai committees;
- deputies of the Kurultai;
- heads of the apparatus of the Kurultai and the Constitutional Court;
- members of Kazakhstan's official delegations led by the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Kurultai, Deputy Prime Ministers, Deputy Chairmen of the Kurultai, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other members of the government.
