Tengrinews.kz - Astana is considered one of Central Asia's main transportation hubs. Here’s how many flights the capital’s airport harbor.
The airport serves both domestic and international routes.
According to the Ministry of Transport, Astana's airport currently operates 237 international scheduled flights per week across 33 destinations:
- Azerbaijan – Baku;
- Belarus – Minsk;
- Vietnam – Cam Ranh;
- Germany – Frankfurt;
- Georgia – Tbilisi, Batumi;
- Egypt – Sharm El Sheikh;
- Qatar – Doha;
- China – Beijing, Sanya, Xi'an, Urumqi;
- Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek;
- UAE – Abu Dhabi, Dubai;
- Poland – Warsaw;
- Russia – Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody,
- Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk;
- Tajikistan – Dushanbe;
- Turkey – Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Istanbul;
- Uzbekistan – Tashkent;
- Montenegro – Podgorica;
- Czech Republic – Prague;
- South Korea – Seoul.
The Ministry of Transport also noted that on October 24, SCAT Airlines launched a direct route from Astana to Sihanoukville (Cambodia). Additionally, on October 30, Vietnamese airline Vietjet Air plans to begin regular flights on the Phu Quoc – Astana route, with two flights per week.
Moreover, there are domestic flights to Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Aktobe, Aktau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Uralsk, Turkestan, Taldykorgan, Petropavlovsk, Semey, Taraz, and Zhezkazgan.
In Kazakhstan, construction has also begun on airports in the resort areas of Katon-Karagai, Zaisan, and Kenderli. More details – here.
