Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Education has explained the steps to secure a kindergarten spot for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Parents in Kazakhstan have until August 31 to enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2025/2026 academic year.
When voucher distribution begins
In cities and regions where the voucher funding system has been implemented, voucher distribution will begin after the queue is updated — starting from July 1.
This applies to the cities of Taraz, Turkestan, Shymkent, Uralsk, Astana, Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zhezkazgan, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Kostanay, Konayev, Kosshy, and Taldykorgan, as well as the Bayzak, Saryagash, Zhetysay, Sairam, Kazygurt, and Maktaaral districts.
In all other regions, placement into age groups will begin on August 1.
What’s required to receive a kindergarten voucher
To successfully receive a voucher, parents must:
- Confirm their acceptance of the voucher within two business days. If this is not done, the application becomes inactive. It can only be reactivated once within 28 calendar days.
- Select a kindergarten, gather the necessary documents, and sign the agreement within five business days.
- If a parent rejects the voucher, their child is removed from the queue.
- If there are no available spots in the chosen kindergarten, the child can be added to a waiting list.
- If needed, the referral period can be extended once for up to 30 calendar days.
- When a spot becomes available, a new notification will be sent to the user’s personal account.
“A kindergarten has the right to reject an application if the submitted documents are incomplete, expired, or if the ratio of unvaccinated to vaccinated children exceeds the permitted limit. Parents are advised to check their documents in advance and regularly monitor notifications in their personal account,” the Ministry of Education said.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev announced that Kazakhstan was training more specialists to work with children with special needs.
