Park officials clarified that the animal in the video is a Eurasian lynx from the cat family. They also noted that lynx are most frequently seen in the Burkhat Pass area.
“It’s not the first time this lynx has appeared in footage from camera traps,” they added.
According to the most recent 2024 count, around 150 lynx live within the park. While the lynx is not included in Kazakhstan’s Red Book, it is a protected species and requires careful treatment and conservation.
Earlier, a snow leopard was caught on video in Kolsai Lakes National Park.
