Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has revealed the top countries from which tourists are arriving, according to Tengri Travel and the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to June 2024, Kazakhstan welcomed 566,500 foreign tourists. This marks an increase of 50,700 compared to the same period in 2023, when the country hosted 515,800 international visitors.
"The geography of foreign tourists visiting our country is expanding every year. For example, in addition to our neighboring countries, travelers from distant regions are now coming to Kazakhstan," the ministry stated.
Leading the list is the Russian Federation, with 186,100 visitors. China follows in second place with 69,918 tourists. India ranks third, contributing 53,695 travelers. The top five is completed by Turkey (30,312 visitors) and the United States (19,597 visitors).
It was previously reported that over 2 million tourists visited Almaty last year, including more than 500,000 foreigners.
