Tengrinews.kz - The number of crimes committed on the streets of Kazakhstan has significantly decreased in recent years, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during an expanded meeting of law enforcement agencies, citing Akorda.
“In recent years, our country has been steadily implementing large-scale reforms across all key areas. Institutional changes are being made in both the political and economic systems. One of the top priorities of our strategic course is to foster a strong legal culture and a sense of responsible citizenship in society,” the Head of State noted.
President Tokayev emphasized that great attention is being paid to improving the law enforcement system and ensuring law and order in all areas of life.
“These efforts have yielded tangible results. Since 2019, the number of criminal offenses has nearly halved. Specifically, cases of robbery, theft, and hooliganism have fallen fourfold, while the number of murders has decreased by 30 percent. Our streets have become noticeably safer and more peaceful — crime in public places has dropped by 80 percent,” Tokayev stated.
