Tengrinews.kz – A meeting between the President of Kazakhstan and Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa was held in Astana, citing Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the high-ranking guest for taking part in today’s event, emphasizing that Cuba’s participation in the work of the EAEU is of great importance to Kazakhstan.
“The President noted the relevance of the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Forum, which focused on the development of artificial intelligence, and pointed to prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in this area. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed the guest about the measures being taken in the country to introduce AI technologies and digitalize key sectors of the economy. In this context, he expressed readiness to share experience with the Cuban side in the development of e-government, including the export of advanced Kazakh digital solutions,” Akorda’s press service noted.

Salvador Valdes Mesa conveyed greetings from Cuban President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and expressed readiness to strengthen trade and economic ties between the countries.
During the meeting, the parties also noted the potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in such promising areas as medicine and pharmaceuticals.

In addition, opportunities for further deepening business, cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed.
The interlocutors exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda.

It should be noted that on May 29, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in Astana. It was attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
