Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to Emmanuel Macron following the numerous human casualties caused by the destructive tropical cyclone on the island archipelago of Mayotte.
"The head of state expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured," the statement said.
In the night of December 14, the French archipelago of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, with a population of over 320,000 people, was struck by the destructive cyclone "Shido." According to meteorologists, wind speeds reached over 200 kilometers per hour, damaging residential homes, administrative buildings, and a hospital. It is noted that this is the strongest storm in the last 90 years. Local authorities report that the number of victims could reach hundreds or even thousands of people.
