Tengrinews.kz – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held narrow-format talks in Astana, citing Akorda.
The President of Kazakhstan warmly welcomed the Turkish leader.
“Your Excellency, Mr. President, my dear brother, I am very glad to see you in the capital of Kazakhstan. First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for accepting my invitation and visiting Kazakhstan on a state visit. It can be said with confidence that your visit is of exceptional importance and is a historic event. Undoubtedly, your current visit will give a powerful impetus to cooperation between our two countries. Kazakhstan and Turkey are bound by consistently friendly, brotherly relations and an eternal partnership. There are no contradictions or disagreements between our states,” the Head of State said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled with satisfaction the agreements reached during his official visit to Turkey last year.
“The fifth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was held in Ankara, resulting in the adoption of very important decisions. Today, the sixth meeting of the council will take place, as well as a large-scale business forum. A representative delegation has arrived in Astana with you. I am convinced that your visit will be successful. Today, we are taking a major step toward a bright future for our mutual cooperation,” Tokayev emphasized.
For his part, the Turkish President thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome.
“First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to you for the invitation to visit the land of our ancestors. You are showing us exceptional hospitality. The honor with which my delegation was received, when we were escorted by aircraft from the moment we crossed the border in Kazakhstan’s airspace, brought us great joy. We will certainly not forget this. I am confident that today’s visit will make a significant contribution to strengthening the unity of our brotherly peoples,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

It should be noted that on May 14, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan broadcast live the solemn welcoming ceremony for Erdogan, which took place at the Palace of Independence in the capital.
In honor of the distinguished guest, fighter jets of Kazakhstan’s Air Defense Forces performed a demonstration flight in front of the palace, leaving behind a red-and-white smoke trail that colored the sky in the colors of the Turkish flag.

It is expected that on May 15, an informal summit of leaders of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Turkestan with the participation of heads of state. The theme of the summit is “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.”
As a reminder, on May 13, the Turkish leader arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kazakhstan with his wife, Emine Erdogan.
