Tengrinews.kz - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Lepekha commented on teenagers on buses who collect money for charity.
In the Senate, the Deputy Minister was asked how the law regulates the activities of these teenagers who call themselves volunteers. The Deputy Minister responded that he was unfamiliar with the issue but promised to investigate.
"We will look into this issue. Again, it's an individual choice—no one is forcing you to give money; you can choose to donate or not. If fraud is involved, then it's within our competence. I will instruct department heads to investigate who these teenagers are and which organizations are behind them," said Igor Lepekha.
He added that it is not necessary to develop a new law for every specific case.
"As I said, if these are fraudsters, then we need to work in accordance with the Criminal Code. We also need to check where their parents are and why they are allowing this. We should investigate whether this activity is legal and where the money is going. I can say that many people take advantage of such good intentions for personal gain," the officer noted.
Earlier, a man from Shymkent has been arrested for defrauding citizens of millions by posing as charity.
