Tengrinews.kz - A Nordwind Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Yekaterinburg to Sochi made an emergency landing in Aktobe after a female passenger's health deteriorated. The aircraft resumed its journey, according to the transport police department at the Aktobe station.

Earlier, it was reported that the passenger died before the plane could land in Aktobe.

The woman, who was traveling to Sochi with her husband and children, died before landing. Her body remains in Aktobe, while the whereabouts of her family have not been confirmed. No official comments have yet been made by the airline or medical authorities.

“The Yekaterinburg–Sochi flight resumed its route at approximately 2:30 p.m. Aktobe time. The deceased woman’s body remains in the regional center. (...) Officers from the Transport Police Department at the Aktobe station are conducting initial investigative procedures to determine all circumstances of the incident, inspecting the scene, questioning witnesses, and preparing a set of forensic examinations. A procedural decision will be made based on the results,” the transport police department said.

The airport’s press service confirmed that emergency services and a medical team were promptly dispatched to the aircraft upon landing.

“Unfortunately, despite all measures taken, the passenger could not be saved. The woman, born in 1983, died before the aircraft landed in Aktobe. Aktobe International Airport extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” the statement read.

Earlier, on May 27, a Nordwind Airlines Boeing 777 carrying 564 passengers was forced to land in Aktobe after a passenger suffered sudden cardiac arrest. It was later confirmed that the 42-year-old woman died before landing.
