Tengrinews.kz – While patrolling the Stepnogorsk-Zavodskoy highway in the Akmola region, police officers noticed a car that was driving swerving, according to Polisia.kz.
The police stopped the car, suspecting that the driver might need help.
"Their suspicions were confirmed: the man behind the wheel felt ill, he lost consciousness and did not understand what was happening. The police guessed that the elderly driver might have had a stroke. Without wasting time, law enforcement officers called an ambulance, warned that the case was an emergency, and let the man breathe fresh air," the regional police department said in a statement.
The police said that the driver's wife, who was nearby, told him where his medications were. Thanks to the quick response of law enforcement officers, the driver received the necessary assistance and his life was saved.
"The work of police officers is not limited to maintaining law and order - they are often the first to save lives on the roads," the police press service noted.
