Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has counted the number of cars in the country – and the figure continues to grow, citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
As of April 1, the vehicle fleet in Kazakhstan totaled almost 5.94 million units. This is a 9.8 percent increase compared to last year.
The majority are passenger cars – 5,235,343 units, or about 88 percent of the total.
Most vehicles were registered in the Abai region, where the number rose by 50.6 percent to 73,138 cars. A growth of over 30 percent was also recorded in the Zhetysu, Ulytau, and Turkestan regions.
In March, more than 147,000 vehicles were registered.
In March 2025, a total of 147,021 vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan, which is 3.5 percent more than in March last year. Of these, 133,481 were passenger cars.
Previously, the Bureau of National Statistics reported that the number of motor vehicles as of February 1, 2025, has increased by 107.6% compared to February of the previous year.
